Membership Annual Dues

The council annual membership dues consists of $36.00. Exception: Insured members under 26 years of age pay $18.00; honorary members pay $9.00; and honorary life members and disabled members pay nothing. In addition, Supreme Council collects a Culture of Life assessment of $2.00 from each member. Honorary, Honorary Life, and Disabled members are exempted from this assessment. The Culture of Life assessment is mandatory and is collected from the Council.

Additionally, the Council supports three charities by asking voluntary contributions from each member. The three charities are the Bishop’s Fund ($1.00), Columbian Retirement Homes ($1.35), and California Columbian Charities ($3.65). If you like to help the three charities, please add $6.00 to your membership dues and the Culture of Life assessment fee.

History of Chief Solano Council No. 3585 of Fairfield, CA

About Us - History

Vallejo council 874 instituted in 1904 was the only Columbian unit in Solano County until February 15, 1953.  On that date in Fairfield, the County Seat, Chief Solano council 3585 was formed

The first officers were Edward J. Cooney, Grand Knight, Fred Sullivan, Warden,  Ed Yasaitis, Financial Secretary. District Deputy Hary Kennedy, (Later became State Warden) was the instituting officer.

Naming of Concil 3585

St. Francis Solano Mission at Sonoma dates from July 4, 1823. One of the early Indian converts baptized there by Father Altimira, Was a great Indian Chief of the Suisunes, Sam Yeto. He had great influence among all of the tribes in his area. In height he stood six feet and seven inches. In baptism he was named after the patron of the mission, St Francis Solano, and there after became known as Chief Solano.

In 1934 a monument, now located on the grounds of the old county seat in Farifield, depicting the great Indian by name of Council 3585.
